Ava Has Autism began as a mother’s way of helping her daughter communicate when words were hard to find. When Ava was nonverbal, everyday moments—mealtime, play, emotions, routines—felt overwhelming for both of us. I started creating simple visual supports, communication boards, and routines to reduce frustration and build understanding. What began at our kitchen table grew into a collection of tools now used by families, educators, and therapists around the world. This blog is a space to share practical guidance, encouragement, and real-life insight for supporting autistic and non-speaking children—always rooted in lived experience, empathy, and hope.
