Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here.
Ava Has Autism was created from lived experience, love, and a deep desire to help children communicate when words are hard to find. When my daughter Ava was nonverbal, everyday moments like meals, playtime, emotions, and routines felt overwhelming for both of us. I began creating simple visual supports and communication tools to ease her frustration and help her express herself.
What started as tools for our own home grew into resources now used by parents, educators, and therapists supporting autistic and non-speaking children around the world.
This blog is a space for:
- Practical guidance for supporting communication
- Visual schedules, sensory tools, and routine-based strategies
- Gentle encouragement for parents navigating autism
- Real-life insight rooted in empathy, not perfection
Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, teacher, or therapist, my hope is that you find support, clarity, and reassurance here — and that you leave knowing you’re not alone on this journey.
Thank you for being here. 💛
— Teika, creator of Ava Has Autism
